The style reminds me of work by <a href="http://www.drooker.com/paintings/index.html">Eric Drooker</a> and <a href="http://www.jeffsoto.com/art.html">Jeff Soto</a>. The city is very visually stimulating - there is a huge amount of public art (legal or illegal).
