The OC

Dropped off and picked up Anna at the airport in Orange County this weekend. I’m sure it is a great place if you know where to look.. but OC just seems like nothing but malls and condos to me. Uhg. I did manage to find some bubble tea, so +1 for that.

The other day I just couldn’t help myself… I saw Iron Chef brand General Tso’s sauce. I am a big fan, so I had no choice. It had better be great, or I will have to slap Chairman Kaga around.

In addition to my staple of Good Eats, I’ve also been watching A Cook’s Tour lately. Tony is a bit of an ass, but the I like the random travel element. Reminds me of the early Lonely Planet tv shows.

And now some local food news, it seems that the fancy pants places in the gaslamp are not enjoying the new ball park.

La Madonna

Went to LA last night with Anna to see Madonna. A friend was supposed to go with her, but the concert was delayed a day and he could not make it. I ended up going in his place. I am not a big fan of hers, but she put on a good show. She definitely knows how to hire the right people, the dancers, multimedia, and effects were very good.

I was amazed at the prices. The tickets were 300 bucks each (Anna got hers on eBay for a lot less), then they have the nerve to try to charge you 20 bucks to park and 50 bucks for a t-shirt. Unbelievable. We got to the parking lot, found out it was 20 bucks and found a spot on the street to park. The messed up thing is it was probably about the same distance away as the parking lot.
